Ce type de lampe à arc ne nécessite pas de régulateur car les deux crayons de charbon sont placés côte à côte et la progression de l'arc est contenue par un colombin ː isolement à base de plâtre mélangé à du sulfate de baryte qui disparait progressivement. Le démarrage de l'arc est assuré par de la plombagine (variété de graphite) enduite de gomme.
English:
This type of arc lamp does not require a regulator because the two carbon rods are placed side by side and the progression of the arc is contained by an insulation based on plaster mixed with barium sulfate which gradually disappears. The starting of the arc is ensured by <<plumbagiɳ>> (variety of graphite) coated with gum.
