remind verb [ rɪˈmʌɪnd ]

• cause (someone) to remember someone or something.
• "he would have forgotten my birthday if you hadn't reminded him"
Similar: jog someone's memory, refresh someone's memory, help someone remember, cause someone to remember, prompt, nudge, give someone a cue,
• cause (someone) to fulfil an obligation or to take note of something.
• "the barman reminded them that singing was not permitted"
Origin: mid 17th century: from re- ‘again’ + the verb mind, probably suggested by obsolete rememorate, in the same sense.
